has anyone tryed or use this scope? Any info on it would be great. I'm just curious to how it works and how well it will hold up.
Thanks

I don't have that paricular scope, but do have the M1000. I have experimented with it a LITTLE. I am working on a review of the scope, but have not been able to spend enough time to really do it justice. I can tell you that the glass is good to very good, the mutiple zero is excellent and the ART and no-math mildot are excellent. The M1000 will become a permanent fixture on my 30-06 BAR once I finish with the 3D mount evaluation. I am currently at a remote test site, so it will be at least a week before I can get back to "personal testing".

Thanks for the reply KB. Keep me filled in on how it works out. I'm interested in how well they work and how consentient they stay. I have heard LW dose have some decent glass but have never looked thru one myself. Thanks again |

BD, the "recent" Leatherwoods have much better glass than the older ones. I have an older one that has served me very well, but it is not very good in low light. The M1000 is much better optically. The "auto ranging" feature is outstanding. I have a friend who has the M-1200 (6-24x50) on a Remington 700 in .243WSSM and he shot a beaver at about 735 yards with it last year. The "framing" (frame 18in target, place crosshair where you want the bullet to hit, fire) feature is superb. With practice, one can adjust for different sized (9in, 6in, 3in, 36in, 48in, 72in) targets, as well.
Once I get some time to wring out the M1000, I will post a review. I hope to get it and the BAR ready for deer season (which is rapidly drawing near). |
