Hmmm, 17 people out of a country of millions complain and force an advertisement to be banned. What happened to freedom of speech? Ohhh! That's right, the people in Great Britan are SUBJECTS, not citizens. They are told what to do by the Government, not the government is told what to do by the people.
Won't it be great when that happens here. NOT!

The Queen has no power,no rule over the citizens of the UK, she's a figurehead.
The Queens speech given at christmas isnt even wrote by her, she is given the speech by the goverment.

The Bill of Rights 1689.

This fundamental document of British constitutional law differed substantially in form and intent from the United States Bill of Rights because it was intended to address the rights of citizens as represented by Parliament against the Crown. However, some of its basic tenets are adopted and extended to the general public by the US Bill of Rights, including
  • the right of petition
  • an independent judiciary (the Sovereign was forbidden to establish his own courts or to act as a judge himself),
  • freedom from taxation by royal (executive) prerogative, without agreement by Parliament (legislators),
  • freedom from a peace-time standing army,
  • freedom [for Protestants] to bear arms for their defence, as allowed by law,
  • freedom to elect members of Parliament without interference from the Sovereign,
  • freedom of speech in Parliament,
  • freedom from cruel and unusual punishments and excessive bail, and
  • freedom from fines and forfeitures without trial.

Alot of it sound familiar?

Yes it does. I knew many parts of our bill of rights were based on your Bill of Rights. I also see how so much of it has been twisted to take freedom from the individual and give it to the government, not that it couldn't happen here too.
Is there a process to amend your Bill of Rights?

The problem as I see it is this. There is a huge awakening starting there about the need for being capable of self defense. The current gun policies in place are NOT law abiding citizen friendly. The few that are so blindly stubborn and self righteous are going to do everything within their power to squelch as much as they can, regardless of how totally moronic it may seem. There is coming a time here in this Country that will be the same if we do not stop it.

Amend to the uk Bill of Rights is always on the books, but nothing since 1689.

Gradual erosion of freedoms and rights for the benefit of the "common good" is an insidious thing.  It can and will happen to you unless you stay vigilant and are prepared to put skin in the game on a personal level.

Some of our most restrictive legislation was passed into law on the heels of terrible tragedies (Ecole Polytechnique massacre), by self serving anti-gun activists.  To the average Joe on the street the new laws sounded pretty reasonable - hell, you licence cars why not guns?  Why do you need high capacity semi-auto rifles?  Who really needs handguns anyway?  etc, etc

Throw into the mix political correctness and a changing demographic due to immigration and it looks like a bleak picture.

Stay awake, get involved.
God save the Empire!
