What is the inherent value and usefulness of the red Chevron over the red "Donut Of Death" for the TA11F ACOG???

A finer point of aim. With the dot it is large and precision shooting becomes harder. WIth the tip of the triangle you can make more precise shots.

Thanks supertool.
It is my understanding that the TA!!F is a good ACOG option because of the generous eye relief. Is that an accurate observation? Also, this unit is approx 14.5 oz's. Add a LaRue QD mount and it is probably 18+ oz's. Is all that weight pretty balanced and comfortable mounted on a 16" H-BAR AR flattop platform? |

Yes, more eye relief and more exit pupil. People also say the 3.5x is a little better for CQB than the 4x but does not make much difference on longer shots.
The weight is all centered between the two points where the rifle is held by your hands so balance is good. Any optic will add weight, you just have to decided how much you are willing to add and go from there. |

What power is correct for you depends on the application - it is easy to have too much power and have it slow you down. They do make some 1.5x and 2x comapact acogs.
