After much anticipation the big day finally arrived, somewhat tempered by a cold rainy day.
The rifle feels nice, is of good quality and handled well. It is heavier then i am used to, but it sat well on the rest and rear sandbags. The bolt operated smoothly with positive ejection. The trigger is a DOG! Despite trying to adjust it one needs a sledge hammer to make it go "bang". The break was crisp and clean. Despite this I do not think that the trigger effected my shooting, due to the weight of the rifle.
During loading the rounds I discovered that the reamer went to sleep on the job. By just holding the bullet at the neck of the shell, the OCL is 85mm. By seating it 2mm in or 83mm OCL, I am not even touching the lands. A standard 308 Win OCL is 81mm.
I shot allmost 10 different load combinations and found that even a small variation in seating depth or powder weight made a big difference in grouping. I did not expect the 308 Win to be so finicky. Despite this my best round is still a bist dissapointing.
All rounds were with 155 gr Sierra Match King. Is the 1 in 12 twist to slow. Speed of about 2800 ft per second. Some bullets seemed to keyhole.
So either a different powder or lighter bullets or ????
I post my best grouping and my worst. Which happens to be same OCL and a 1/2 gr of powder variance!

8shots, your groupings are typical of "pulling" the trigger. The bottom target might also suggest canting a bit. Hard to say without having been there to watch, but typical of the two above mentioned error factors.
I suggest trying some high grade factory match ammo to get a baseline, then do load workups. And get a trigger job or a new trigger.

Try some 168 SMK bullets. Most of those VS guns really shoot those well. Also your chamber is a typical remington chamber, on my VS it was the same thing, but SMKs they seem to be okay with the jump as mine always shot well.

I have posted more targets under the reloading thread. Some targets show vertical stringing and others horizontal stringing. This post is more a rifle report then looking at the loads issue, hence only two targets posted as worst and best. But thank you for your comments.

The new X Mark Pro. The trigger spring is rather strong and cannot be adjusted to lightly.
