Hello, I'm new to this forum and a Alberta boy. I have in my possesion a new Burris Euro Diamond 3-12x50 I am going to mount on a new Vangaurd Backcountry .257 WM. Glass looks great, has any one had any expierience with one. Nobody up here seems to know anything about this model. I have a 3-9x40 FFII on my 300WSM and think its great, like to hear your thoughts.

hmmm where is helo18 when we need him he is a burris conoseur. the diamond series both the euro diamond and black diamond are noted to be excellent scopes that are extremely tough and have pretty good glass. i had a ffII on my 300wsm also and it was a nice scope so i imagine the euro diamond must be pretty damn good.
as far as mounting the 3x12 on the .257, why the heck not? the .257 will reach out there and knockem down at 400 yds easily

Welcome to OT Tireguy
The Euro is a big step up from the FFII. You should really love the clarity that this scope has. You will see an increase in brightness. There will be more elevation available with the 30mm tube also. Which reticle did you get on your scope? Edited by 3_tens - August/09/2008 at 22:00 |

Tireguy, you have a nice scope there in the Euro Diamond. I don't have one, but have looked through a couple. The glass is the same as in the Black Diamonds, and I can say that is good glass. Should be rugged like I have found all burris scopes to be. It should be a big step up from the FFII. I have one of those as well and like it too.
Pyro, sorry about the late entrance. I was out flying all day. |

I have the Ball Plex on my FFII and find it to be very handy. I have Ballistic Mil Dot on my Black Diamond and it will be on the XTR I am waiting for. I prefer my Mil Dot more, but the ball plex is simple and easy to use. If you don't mind, do some comparisons with other scope and give us a review on the Euro Diamond. I would be interested to hear what you think. |

Talked to the gun shop on friday and Weatherby was shipping today, I should see my rifle next week if customs doesn't delay it. I,ll get her mounted and run a few down the tube and let you know, I'll shoot in some low light conditions as well. Any suggestions on mounts and rings?
