Is there diff in optical quality between the two?

all things being equal yes, the ao has one less lens element, however finding a maker that gives you a choice isn't going to happen -- front ao are a less expensive method of moving the front lens, to the correct plane, whereas the front focus puts the moveable behind, so to get the same quality in image the glass and the mechanical has to be better-- thus higher cost.  --- get the leo.

I bought my first SF this year and I am really happy with it. Nikon Buckmaster SF.....

Dale

So my real question is how much optical quality diff is there due to the parallax adjustmet between:

Leupy Mark 2 AO
Leupy Mark 4 SF
Super Sniper SF
Super Sniper rear parallax adj.

I just looked thru a Mark 4 today and I own a Mark 2.  But my Mark 2 is the 3-9 with no parallax adjustment.

I have owned a SS rear focus as well.

So I am trying to figure out which scope will go on a new .308.

As we know:

SS is either $300 or $400 depending

Leupy Mark 2 4-12 AO will cost me $400 with mil discount

Leupy Mark 4 3.5-10 will cost me $700 with mil discount.

I am leaning toward the Mark 4.

mk 2 are more like a vx11 and in the "same" general group as burris, and ss, but not as robust as the ss. -- consider the mk4 more closely, m2 or m3 turrets, TMR, -- wish I could get them for $700
