That is a question which cannot truly be answered. First you have to say what it is to be used for, ranges you intend to shoot, then what you are going to put it on.

Without knowing your needs I will add the Nikon Team Primos. These scopes are a steal considering their optics. They have great contrast, resolution and are very bright in low light.

Sightron SII 3-9x42 and Nikon Monarch Team Primos 3-9x42 are neck and neck.  All others are in the running for distant third as far as 3x-9x scopes are concerned in the under $200 category.........Doug

If you cant go the extra money I would probably go with the Nikon Team Primos or the sightron S2   Just remember with the balistic reticle the reticle only works at the highest power for known hold over marks.  Also when it starts gettin dark dial down to about 6x and the scope will be brighter (same on all of these).

Sightron S2 3-9x42 or Nikon Team Primos (i.e. old Monarch).

These are the best $200 scopes on the market.  Fullfield II quality has gone down and it can not really compete against these two.

Personally, I am partial to Sightrons.  I have the above mentioned S2 3-9x42 and it has been absolutely trouble free for a number of years.

I'll go with rec from dougedwards.  If you do not want the BCD reticle, then take the Sightron.

Bushnell Legend 3-9x40 is fully multi coated and is way under $200.00.Sightron SII has the edge over the Nikon Team Primos with better optics & the best warranty in the business. The Bushnell 3200 has rain gaurd which is a plus in wet conditions. My choice is the Sightron SII. I have all these scopes mentioned, once you look through the Sightron and see the quality it's a bargain & best kept secret in optics.Fro

Ok...I will order soon (I really will buy 3 scopes all $200 or less...Im from argentina and here scopes cost three times more! some good friend will come back to my country soon).
At this time I have in mind
BURRIS FF2 3-9 (burris is good ..and I lwant a gps tooSmile)
Bushnell elite 3200 3-9x40 (good price for a japan scope..also I want a rain guard scope..and the 4200 cost more)
Sightron S2 3-9 (finger adjustable knob, japan made and exatrack)
Also Im thinking in the nikon  monarch ucc 2-7x32 (I think is a good scope...sadly I dont want a scope labeled "team primos" thats why I dont want a Team primos).

i will tell you that if you buy a package deal burris ffII with any free item with it, ie spotting scope, binos gps etc, it wont be as good of quality as the ffII that you buy on its own, i had been told by an inside source that is very reliable that these package deal scopes dont get the same treatment in the optics dept as there normal scopes would so i would stay away from the package deal, the team primos is a monarch, just a different name on the side, sales gimick really is all it is, i have one and its the same as my monarch other than it has a bdc reticle.
