Hey all, I thought I would introduce myself since I'm new here.  I've been on snipershide for a few years and have learned alot from some great guys over there and I'm sure I'll do the same here.  I've been a police officer for 11 years and will be attending a 2 week sniper/observer course this fall.  My main interests are precision/long range shooting, hunting, and fishing.  I look forward to learning from you guys and contributing what I can.  Here's a pic of my baby.

It is a .308.  Blueprinted Rem 700 action, 24" Rock Creek barrel, Jewell trigger, Bader base and rings, Leupy MK4 4.5-14, and of course the McMillan M40A1 stock.  Just getting it broke in, 196 rounds of Blackhills Moly so far.  Here's how it shoots when I do my part:

Welcome! I'm kind of new here myself. So far, everybody has been great... very helpful and friendly... even for an old fart like me. Imagine that. Great looking (and obviously accurate) weapon you've got there.

Good shooting, Chuck!  What kind of finish is that on the metalwork?

It is a Mil-Spec Poly-Sulfide finish.  This rifle was built by Landtec owned and operated by Randy Landen here in London, Ky.  He uses that finish on all rifles that he builds.

I saw that show too.  Most of it was pretty accurate.  I became interested years ago because my grandfather had been a mason since the early 1950's.  I just think it's neat to be a part of something that's been around so long and so many of our founding father's were a part of.
