Going to be mounting up a rifle scope soon. Which would you select for eastern whitetail hunting and why?:
Leupold Rifleman 2-7x33
Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40
Weaver Classic V9 3-9x38

I assume you don't already own these and it's a budget issue ..... Forget the Rifleman ..Kinda a toss up on the other 2, but I'd go Weaver ( have one and it 's been trouble free) ,,but in the same realm money wise- I prefer the Bushnell Elite 3200 w/rainguard

When you get up to VX III you are into decent glass but the 4200 glass is better than the VXIII for a lot less money. Leupold does have good customer service and if you are stalking game the 1.5-5x20 VX III is a nice compact scope. When it comes to Leupold go straight to the VX III series but if price is an issue you cant beat the Bushnell 4200 scopes. If that is too much money try this:

The only problem with weaver scopes ... they've been sold yet again ! Service may get a bit hard to get in the near future .
