Same scope with the BDC. Excellent optics for the money in a reliable and good looking scope. Depending on your use, the 100 yard parallax setting shouldn't be a problem. That is unless you are shooting bugs at seven yards. If it is for small game and plinking it is no problem.

I do not mean to high jack this topic but the comment that tahqua made about the 100 yard parallax not being a problem unless you are at 7 yards
interests me. I have been looking for a scope for my rimfire that would allow
me to shoot it indoors at 25 yds as well as outdoors to 100 yds or occasionally
farther. I was looking very hard at a Kahles C MZ 3-9, but if parallax is not
that big of an issue that would open up my choices. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |

The 4-16x Bushnell 4200 scopes with front parallex adjustment will adjust parallex down to 10 meters - the newest version soon to be released side focus version goes down to 25 yds. Super Sniper scopes will parallex adjust down to 10 meters. Sightron 4-16x42 SII big Sky adjust down to 10 yds. To get the adjustable objective on the front of the scope you are typically into a higher power variable scope but thats ok because you can still use a 4-16x at the 4x power. That said what I have on my 22 and it works just fine at 25 or 50 or 100 and I use the mil dots for known hold over is :

Thanks for your thoughts Urimaginaryfrnd.
I was aware of the scopes you mentioned and I did have an Elite 4200 4-16 for a
short time. I liked the glass but when I tried to zero it I ran out of windage
adjustment. The best I could get was about 2 inches to the left of where I was
aiming at 50yds. The scope I had on before (VX ll 3-9 EFR) zeroed and still had
some more windage to go. My dealer changed the rings three times with the
same result. I also was able to zero a VXlll 4.5 -14X40 LR with no trouble. I
wanted better glass and tracking, that is why I changed scopes. And is also why
I did not consider the other scopes you talked about. The SWFA scope
rating scale put them at the same rating as my VX ll. Or am I missing something
on the rating scale? So that is why I asked about the parallax in the previous
post. |

Sparky, it sounds like you may need some windage adjustable rings. Both the Leupolds have a bit more az adjustment range than the Elite. Sometimes, you get a rifle where the base mounting holes are a little off. That could be your case, or your bases could be a little off. Windage adjustable rings are available from several suppliers. However, it would be a good thing to get your gunsmith to check before getting adjustable rings. And if you do go to the adjustables, exercise caution when mounting the scope. Always use ring alignment rods to adjust prior to "cranking down" the scope.
I had this problem on my German Voere Titan II, one of the best built rifles in the world, but the base mount holes were out of alignment. I had them filled and redrilled by a master gunsmith and then used Millet Angle-locs. No problems, now.

Kickboxer,
Thanks for the info. I had my rifle an Anschutz 1717HB sporter rifle checked and the base mount holes were in correct alignment. Sparky |

If you have passed up on the Super Sniper because it did not rate equal to the high end glass you have missed a treasure. For the bargain price of $299 these scopes are definately a winner.
