You can buy one from Remington, and there are several aftermarket laminated stocks available for the M700 as well.

Why do you want to do that?  The CDL stock is nice looking!

Yes, I have one.  It's right now waiting on a Stiller Predator action for a little... cough, cough... under the spousal radar project I'm working on.

Pyro, I see no reason to change stocks, I think the cdl stock is remingtons most attractive stock, though if you want to personalize the rifle with a new stock by all means do it.  I guess thats part of the fun of gun ownership, making it the way you want, be it triggers, stocks, scopes ect...

I have a few.
They are more stable than walnut. They are also heavier than both walnut and synthetic. The bonding resin is very dense.

I did the same ...The laminated CDL SF stocks show up on ebay every now and then from Stocky's Gunstocks  . The Boone and Crocket style laminated stocks are great looking and stable in adverse weather.....Thunbs%20Up

Thank you Ted and others, yes that is the Custom Shop APR in 300WM. It is a different stock than what they put on the standard rifles. When I ordered that rifle back in 95, I spec-ed a 40X barrel, trigger and a stainless action. That gun shoots  stupid small groups. Back when I got that gun, the Custom Shop's prices were very reasonable. Today, they are rather steep. Not exactly a lightweight, but, the way it shoots, I can overlook that aspect. BTW Ted, your taste isn't to shabby either, Cooper Man!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of the Remington Custom Shop, they have now discontinued the KS Mountain Rifle. A bad thing IMO. My first one is over twenty years old and cost $750.
Like Roy says, the prices have gone up quite a bit.

I hate hearing that, as I've always thought the KS Mountain Rifle was a slick gun!  I remember the pics of yours, Doug.  I seem to recall you had her nicely posed on top of your black bear rug.

They have a new lightweight rifle coming out someday called the 40X Ti Hunter. A titanium action, fluted bolt, 40X faceted barrel, machined aluminum floor plate, Bansner stock, 40X trigger, M-16 extractor and lighten bolt. I can only imagine the price.

None what so ever! Check this inventory, their prices are good and you could possibly get a 99% inletted. If you get one and have any problem please let me know. I've used them for yrs. and have yet to hear any complaint.      http://www.rifle-stocks.com/

Richard's Precision Microfit stocks does great work.  I have only purchased their wooden stocks and finished and bedded the barreled action into them.  In fact that custom in my avatar came from them.  The laminate stocks look very nice, but I have never seen one in person.
