He said he was going to be off for a while because of all the flooding up in his area.  He said his basement got flooded and he was going to be pretty busy with the mess.

I was afraid of that. I sent him a PM last night that went unanswered.

Those poor folks up there (some members here) have just been hammered with rain and flooding. The Warden and I were watching it on the TV last night and we were heart broken for all those people.
Prayers sent.

Hurry back, Ron and Godspeed.

Just got a PM from Ron and things have turned for the worse for him and his family.
They are safe, thankfully, but their home has taken a real beating from the flooding.

I'll link this thread to his outbound PM and let him know we are thinking of him.

Please keep Ron and his loved ones in your prayers. Shoot him a PM if you can, I'm sure he would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Thoughts and prayers are with Ronk, his family, and the victoms of the floods. That weather was just north of us, and we didn't get a drop. Ronk I hope everything turns out well for you.

Where is RONK at, I'm in Des Moines. Actually I'm high and dry here (I was here for the flood of 93 and knew where not to buy a house. )   Cedar Rapids really got hammered the worst. I'll tell you its been interesting (busy as hell) I've been manning the entry control for EMD at the Iowa National Guard headquarters. My kids have been mobilized by the Air Guard and did a lot of sand bagging.   Des Moines learned from the 93 floods and I suspect that several improvements will be made in each of these cities over time. FEMA is here in a big way but for some reason I think the average guy that got flooded out will not see adequate help from FEMA. The hidden cost of all this is how it will affect the corn and soybean crops as we have had such a wet spring that lots of it hasn't gotten planted and lots has been covered with flood waters. I need to go down and fix the farm fence that washes out each spring several times but  I was lucky that my house is on a hill.  Anyway RONK let us know whats going on and what we can do to help.

I sent him a PM and got this message from him today...

"we're making steady progress. The weather is nice, the river has dropped to near- normal levels. We still have a lot of cleanup to do, but that is to be expected. I went back to work today, so things are slowly getting back to normal. Thanks for your concern!"

Ron just shot me an email and said he and his family are OK and getting squared away.

They are getting their home all scrubbed down and cleaned up, but are not living there yet.
I'm sure he would appreciate a PM from you guys, but it may be a while before he can respond, so don't hold your breath.

He said to tell you guys "Hey" and that they are doing well.

I'll post any updates as I get them.

 Hi guys!
I'm back for a little while, and just wanted to touch base and let you all know that we are doing well, making re-construction progress, and generally things are looking up for us.
Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and well-wishes you have sent.
Thank you also for the very generous monetary gifts;  we are truly overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness and generosity.
A very special word of gratitude to Mark;  I can't thank you enough, Friend, for everything you have done to help us get through this.

May God bless all you guys and gals,
                                                      Ron, Peggy and children
