Best scope I have ever owned, hands down.

Many current field reports to be had over at Sniper's Hide by more qualified people than myself.

(From the USO website.)

USO is a full blown custom scope shop and will give you basically whatever calibrated reticle you desire....For a fee. Wink

I sold my SN-3 about 3 years ago. Still hurts to say that. Really%20Sad

I have a pic of it mounted on my Remington .308 floating around here somewhere.

You are correct, there is a WEALTH of info at SH. More than can be absorbed in a short time. This looks like just the "ultimate" I am looking for for the rig I am building. Planning on either Krieger or Shilen barrel (had decided on Krieger, but now am contemplating Shilen) on a Win Mod 70 30-06. Right now, with stock barrel it is good to hold 1MOA, really have to "bear down" to get there. I am an -06 lover. If US Optics "customizes", looks like a good option. I was actually considering the Ellis Optics scope (from another post) but now have ANOTHER dilemma. Thank you for the inputs.

Boy!! I forgot how GI-NORMOUS that USO was!!!
Compared to the Monarch, that is.

Same rifle and rail in both pics.

Sorry for the hi-jack of your thread, kiwi.

CT, thank you for the photos. LOVE the looks of that USO. It is a monster, though. The Monarch doesn't look bad, but the rifle really is HOT with that USO on it.
Kiwi, my apologies as well...just the thoughts flow during a certain thread sometimes, no intent to take over your post.

I have a 4-16x40 Bushnell 4200 and you can get Kenton knobs for those which is a better route than a balistic reticle. Balistic reticles only work at the highest power unless it is a FFP First Focal Plane scope. http://www.kentonindustries.com/

I too have an SN3 and it is an amazing scope.  And the elevation turret on top can be fitted with a BDC for calibration to any particular load and bullet.

I too had the Monarch with BDC (for a short time) and didn't like the thickness of the reticule.

I like BDC's on my hunting rifles.  I have a Tikka T3 (in .270, great handling gun) and topped mine with the Swaro AH 3-10 with their ballistic reticule - and it is my favorite rifle/scope for stalking game.

Here's most of my SN3, below the 600-yard, 3-shot group it printed (I know, 3 shots ain't a true group, but it was my last 3 and was purely for the hell of it.  Notice also the BDC, calibrated for the 190-gr. Sierra BTHP at 3050FPS - and it is dead-nutz.  All 3 rounds would'a been dead-on had I called the wind a little better - it was a windy day and I didn't have my Kestrel on hand.

OK, CT and RC, you have convinced me... I started a USO SN3 fund.  I am already considering a bake sale...
However, I may still wait on SWFA to perform an evaluation of the Ellis Optics scopes...

RC, what action is that... great bolt knob.
