I'm sure the rank and file officers would oppose this especially when they find out that their state FOP president opposes them working off duty in buisnesses where the owner and others carry. This FOP president will probably be a one term Pres. when the members find out about this.
Back in the 90s when Dewey Stokes was the national FOP president and an anti-gunner (except for himself) the FOP was loseing members. When his term was up he was not re-elected and the new president made a statement that the National FOP was no longer in the gun ban buisness.
This needs to be brought to the attention of the rank and file officers.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Typical ..... Maryland's worse .... if you don't want to end up face down in the dirt ... you better have your firearm in a case ... in the trunk .... locked with a lock ..... ammo at front of vehicle far away from firearm .... in a closed compartment ! And never venture on any federal .... state or county property with it secured in that manner anyway unless it's a designated hunt ground during firearms season only with all approptiate hunting licenses .  If you welded it to the trunk floor ... you're still busted ..... so the rest of you don't feel bad .
Yea that no off duty work will p*ss off alot of guys here !!!!

I'm happy here in Georgia, atleast as long as we have the general mentality that gets things done the way they have in recent years anyways. We are really close to having that TEXAS mentality here. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
