Looking for a couple of decent scopes for some varminters. I like the features on the Millett 6-25-56mm LR line.

Went to a local shop and they liked the Swift line, and after looking through them they seemed decent. Was looking at the 677 models...would prefer the premier line if it is that much better...whats the warranty like?

If anyone could give me some feedback on these it would be appreciated. Warranty stuff would be good....clarity....reliability....and anything else that would pertain to these two lines.

If Chris would feel free to share his insight that would be great.

 Thanks-Jeff
Takecare and be blessed-Jeff

I have never owned a Millet product, heard they were made in China and I have a policy about that.  If I am wrong, somebody inform me.  I do own many Swift scopes and all have performed well with reasonably good optics.  Not a Kahles mind you, but does not cost as much either.  I once was going to mount a Burris FFII on a rifle and realized I had a Swift sitting around.  After a half an hour of comparing the two scopes, the Swift was clearly, from an optical and build stand point better and went on the rifle.  I have a Swift on my CZ 17 mach 2 and on a Ruger MKII 220 Swift.  I have them on a couple other rifles, but I cannot remember which ones.

+1. I too have never owned or used a Millet scope, so cannot speak to that, but the Swift scope I have has served extremely well. Killed two deer in very near dark conditions with it (within a minute of legal shooting time), one skunk I could not see in the darkness without the scope. There are much more expensive scopes that are better, but they ARE much more expensive. I have used Bushnell, Burris, Nikon, Pentax, etc in close to the ballpark price range, and the Swift performs with any of them, IN MY EXPERIENCE. Clicks are a little hard to "hear" and, for me, it is easy to adjust beyond an intended point. Overall, very good value. As for warranty, it is not as good as when I got mine...if there is a DEFECT, Swift will opt to repair or replace. However, the guy I got this one from says they are VERY GOOD on replacement for almost any problem. I have never had to test the warranty, have used mine for going on 10 years. It is mounted on a .243 BAR and has seen action on 7mmMag and 30-06 (not much on those two, but some). My 13 year old daughter shoots 1/2 to 3/4in 3 shot groups at 100yd. I once put a paper deer target at 200yd and she told me she was going to shoot it in the eye...and did. From a bench rest, yes, but a called shot. However, she did have an exceptional teacher... her mother.

The shop I used to work at was deep into Leupold and Swift.  I owned 4 different swift products, 2 were great, 2 failed, 1 of them twice.  The reticle came loose 2x on my 10/22 magnum.  I gave up and put on my old reliable tasco world class and sold it.  Good glass for the price, but they seem to be a little fragile.  Good warranty though, you'll probably need it.
