Wild is'n tit ? They say they are extremely intelligent ... now I believe it . I heard they also like to steal objects ... women's jewelry they leave out on the picnic tables and such when working outside . Wonder how many diamonds they have stashed .... LOL

When we were kids, my brother found a fledgling crow not much bigger than a sparrow that had fallen out if his nest. He fed him bugs and pieces of raw beef liver and actually raised him to adulthood. He was free to come and go as he pleased, but hung around the farm buildings for a couple years. He would fly up and land on your shoulder when you called him. He hated the farm cats and tormented them relentlessly, it was hilarious to watch.  He'd sneak up behind one, peck its' tail and fly up on a fencepost and chuckle.

 Over and over again...

He would land on a cow's back and ride her all around the pasture, just for fun, I guess. Same with the handlebars on our bikes as we'd ride around in the evenings after chores.
He loved shiny things, and I once watched him struggle to fly off with a 8-inch Crescent wrench, which we never saw again.
I don't remember what they were, but I think he could speak a few words of English, too.
Knowing the trouble he caused they were probably cuss words!
Suddenly he just vanished.  I think on owl killed him in his roost at night in one of the big maple trees in our back yard.
He sure was a smart little devil...kinda miss him.

Dang that is a cool story Ron.  I used to raise magpies that I would find when they were babies but they never turned out like that.

my old man had a pet magpie also, it would keep the older kids away from him. my grandfather had a pet badger, we called him fred, we would pose for pictures with him etc and he had his hole in the back yard and he just kinda hung out till he died of old age

I've never heard of anyone taming a badger, Pyro. Probably not too different than a ferrett, I guess, and a lot of people have them as pets. A guy at work was telling me about a neighbor of his who had a pet skunk for years and never had her de-scented. Never had a "discharge" in the several years they kept her. Sweetest pet you could have, very affectionate and well-behaved. One day she disappeared, and a few months later was scratching at the back door with a whole litter of kits!

Big%20Smile    Hey, I guess it's the thought that counts!

The family that had her loved to have guests over for dinner.  They made it a point not to mention the pet skunk, just to watch the reaction of the dinner guests when she'd climb into a chair next to them in the middle of a meal!

Laugh%20Above   My wife's grandfather had 2 crows or ravens I don't recall .... they talked ! He said you split their tongue .... ? Where's my tweezers ..... he may have been joking about the tongue deal .... but they could say alot of words and recognized family members and called them by name when they came outside . They wrote it up in the local paper and alot of people came to see them ... drove him nuts ... then one day they were gone ... he thinks someone stold them ... they had their wings clipped .

My wife wants a skunk, but i don't think they are legal to keep in Texas.  whatever happened to being a one dog family?

Kris Kristoferson: Why do people hate france? They have wine, beautiful women and 400 different kinds of cheese.

Waylon Jennings: Hell Hoss, you can get all that in Ft. Worth!
