Well, the new toy is complete. It's a Cooper 52M Jackson Hunter in 25-06. Mostly based on the recommendations offered here, I put a Swaro AV 3-10 X 42 on it. I think it looks great, and should be the bugs nuts for a long time to come. I went to the range last Saturday and it shot very well. It really seemed to like some Stars and Stripes ammo (100gr. Barnes TSX) that I had previously purchased. I do not have any pics hosted anywhere (like Photobucket), but I could e-mail a few to someone that would be gracious enough to put them up here. Any takers? Anyway, thanks to everybody for their previous inputs.

You can email the pics to me and I'll be happy to post them for you if you wish.  I would definitely like to see your new Cooper 52!  Send me a PM and I'll give you my email address.

I'm envious, real nice setup, let us know if it performs as expected.

That is a great looking factory target. How did your groups look? I may have to look into a Cooper myself. Am looking for a super accurate hunting rifle, but don't really want to build one from scratch.

That is really nice. The colouring on the stock also looks exceptional. Hope you enjoy the rifle.

Trigger, I can assure you my groups weren't that good. My best 5 shot group was 7/8 inch. I'm probably not the worlds greatest shot, and I expect the rifle to only get better with more usage (and me getting more used to it). I only put about 30 rounds through it the first session. I shot 5, cooled, cleaned and then shot five more. I also took two other rifles with me to alternate off.

Thanks 8shots for the compliment. I'm really liking this rifle alot!

Also, many thanks to Bigdaddy for posting the pics for me.

Very very, not bad. I'm certain that as much of a pleasure that must be to shoot, that the range time will greatly improve your shooting as well. Keep us posted as to the progress.
Congrats on a fine rifle!!!!!!Excellent
