All I have heard is very good things about them. They are somewhat finicky eyebox wise but then so are a few others. You should overall be pleased, the glass and overall scope design are rather good.

It's good.   I have a VX-ll and the Sightron Sll tops that one.    I've used a VX-lll, and Sightron is every bit as good, in my judgement.  In order to substantially improve my scope quality I went to a Kahles, Helia CL.   That one has sharper glass.    I hunted open country with the Sightron and hit everything I aimed at out to over 300 yards.  Add at the price of around $200 for a 3-9X42, it's the most bang for the buck I'm aware of.

I think eaven the S1 Sightron is quite good.  I put one on a 22 recently and will probably need another one before long.
