This is the scope that really looks like a winner and one you might wish to consider.

I personally just went with a monarch ... great scope for the money . Chris' scale told me more than any other reference to decide . As you can see sometimes much bigger bucks does'nt get you better . As far as the interference .... decide whether to go one size higher on your mount/rings . It's only a fraction higher and you won't have to strip off the iron sights .  You never know when something screwy will happen to your scope ... it does happen ... then at least you'll have the irons for backups . If it does ever happen and no backup = ruined hunt .... you may as well throw rocks if you end up with no sites ! Plus I don't like having the scope real close to the barrel ... even heat dissipation causes interference with optics and if you ever want caps or a cover it'll be a pain in the butt for clearance . Just my opinion from many years of being there and had it happen ....

That Bushnell 4200 1.25x4x24mm while and excellent scope, I have one on a predator calling rifle is very heavy  at 15oz with out rings.   I think a VX-II 1x4x20mm or 2x7 would be a better choice for a quick handling little carbine.

Thanks to everyone.  I ended up going the "scout" route and bought the leftover Monarch UCC 2.5-8x EER from SWFA.  With the rifle being a takedown, I don't want to have to worry about losing my zero, notwithstanding what Browning says about no loss of accuracy.  If I don't like the setup, I'll just have to buy a new barrel for my Encore 15" and get a receiver mount for the BLR.  Thanks again.  All of the help here is great and greatly appreciated.

........................You should like that scout setup. I use that same Nikon scope on my Ruger Frontier in the scout position. That scope was selling for $289 and is now $189 making it a great buy!

The $100 reduction in price was pretty much the clincher for me.  I have the UCC in 3-9x on my A-Bolt .270, so I knew the glass was top-notch for the price.  Thanks Squeeze.

Thanks.  We'll see if the setup matches up with my eyes, but I'm excited to try it out.

the reason the zeiss costs more, is because there cs dept gives a damn, a lot like leupold, i have a had very good luck with all my nikon scopes knock on wood, but if i could afford conquests i would buy them, the 4200 elite and monarch are neck and neck to my eyes but the conquest is better than both and therefor warrants the extra ching. good luck with the nikon enjoy it
