I am new to scopes. Have always used open sights. Starting to hunt Montana,(mule deer, antelope). getting 7mm mag. and have been looking and reading trying to educate myself on the ins and outs of scopes. have narrowed it down to weavers and burris. 4-16 and 3-9. Am I getting close. Don't want to spend crazy $ on scope, just starting out.

more stuff to screw you out of a trophy animal, i hunted wyoming many years as i grew up there and never had a scope with an ao on it. deer are plenty big at 300 yds even at a lower power, i dont see the need really but if it makes you feel more confident then i would get it.

+1 on the Conquest. For under $500 it is an excellent choice. Welcome to the OT Indy.
