I have these three scopes on my shortlist but can't make a final decision:
Nikon Monarch X 4-16x50
Bushnell 6500 4-32x50
Burris XTR 6-24x50

The scope will be mounted on a .22-250 Remington

Please help

take the monarch hope it holds together, nikon's cs dept doesnt have the best reputation, take the 6500 elite, its a new kid on the block and not yet proven,
take the xtr, with its 6x low end if you plan to shoot coyotes 6x is a little high especially if you hunt alone, so i can feel your pain on this choice, i would take the 6500 or the monarch myself.

I would probably opt for the Elite 6500.

Give the 6500 a try ...based on the 4200 it should be a winner

Thanks for all the replies. I'm still very confused as to what type of reticle and what magnification range is best. Most of my hunting would be done up to 300 yards with some target shooting at times. How is the Bushnell Mil-dot and duplex reticles for lange lange and small targets? The Ballistic mil-dot in the Burris looks great. Any other recommendations?

I don't want to spend more than $800

Burris is rated lower on this site because of CS issues. I have 4 of them without any problems. I wish I could say that about some that are rated very high. I can find no Fault with he clarity or brilliance of the Burris. I like the turrets on he Nikon better. The b-plex is dead on when used with .223 55 Gr or 30-06 150. Good luck on what ever you choose.

I like the Nikon's they have nice glass. Haven't seen the 6500's yet but that would be my second choice. And I'm not a big Burris fan seen too many come back (where I used to work) cause they could would hold zero or "had built in fog" also don't like how the whole eye piece turns to adjust power, but that's not really a bad thing I just don't like it

If you could break the budget by $25 you could squeeze one of these in. Would be excellent on a 2-250.

I just got the 6500 from Bud' 3 days ago.I have the 2.5-12 x 40 mil dot, what's realy nice is  if you put a light on the mil dot for 2 minutes the mildot glows for about 1/2hour they call it fire fly.The glass is excelent.
I also own various Burris & Nikon in the $ 400 to $800 range & comparing them in low light of my basement the 6500 is slightly better & I wasn't using the fire fly.Hope this helps...Good Luck
