At the 2007 S.H.O.T. show Nikon announced the new 4x erector Monarch line and at the same time informed us that the current 3x erector line was discontinued. We bought all remaining inventory of the discontinued Monarchs from Nikon which Nikon provided an E.T.A. of mid summer 2007. We launched our ad campaigns to coincide with the delivery dates provided by Nikon which turned out to not be completely accurate. A large portion of our order was delivered as promised but the remaining portions got pushed back. Nikon kept giving us later and later dates with no real reason for the delay. After a month of this back and forth, we pulled our ads until we could be assured of an accurate date. The majority of our customers that placed an order during this time period did receive their product timely from the first delivery however many did not and we apologize for that. Then, inadvertently, we added to the already large Nikon back order situation this year. Most of our inventory of discontinued Monarchs had been moved by mid 2007 and what were left were the slowest sellers. Earlier this year we cost averaged our inventory with what was en route which enabled us to sell off our existing inventory of discontinued Monarchs. When we marked them down we unexpectedly sold more than what we had on our shelves and more than what was coming from Nikon from the 2007 S.H.O.T. show order due to several Internet forums spreading the word faster than we could turn them off and because many individuals ordered multiple scopes, which compounded the problem.
The good news is that a large freight truck unloaded a large pile of boxes from Nikon today that have been long over due. If you are one of our customers that placed an order for a Nikon product that was placed on back order over the last year, we would like to apologize for this inconvenience, once more. We accept full responsibility for this unacceptable delay and hope you will accepet our apology and enjoy your long awaited Nikon scope. We recieved many calls and emails in regards to order status and asking what the problem was and we answered all of them honestly and truthfully with the only information we had to work with, which was provided by Nikon. We could only assume what really happened in regards to the delay and because it is only an assumption on our part we do not feel it is professional to express it publicly, so we apologize to any customers that felt we were not sharing all we knew. We greatly appreciate our loyal customers and appreciate everyones patience during this very unusual back order issue. Edited by Chris Farris - April/09/2008 at 14:57 |

Chris ... thanks very much for sharing 'the rest of the story' ... all along, I kept saying that something had to be really screwy with all this, because it didn't jive with my past experiences with SWFA ...
thanks again, and I'm very much looking forward to receiving my scope ... -Trey- |

I'm glad to get them. I've been on the other side of the fence and know how things work.
