I ordered a Nikon 6.5-20x44 Monarch UCC Riflescope on Feb 6th of this year and as of now (March 18th) have not had received the scope or an update from SWFA. It was in stock and avaiable when I ordered it. If they could not get it or had a run on them why not let me know at least sub it for like unit. I ordred gloss but would be fine with mat finish. PM'd Chris and have had no responce from him
Kind of BS  I think

Keep trying, or send a PM to Chris Farris.  They are busy, but the best way is to call them, ask for Chris Farris, tell them who you are, and they will take care of you.  I have never had a problem with them, and when I call them, I always am treated well, and taken care of quickly.  In fact, I have never had a call that wasn't picked up and answered the first time I call.

Read rule 6, this is a forum not a complaints department, there is contact info and they will get back to you, when they can. Patience sir, patience.

It sounds a bit unusual.  SWFA's customer service is usually beyond reproach.

Perhaps, a phone call is in order?

He is one of the 24HR guys and well aware of the back order situation.  PM me your real name and zip and I will gladly take you off back order and you won't have anything to worry about.

edited to add.  I may have jumped the gun and my post above was an assumption based on the date of his order, the brand of product, it being his first post and it came after we had just locked the initial thread.

One of those huh? They are a pesky bunch, persistent, or hard headed? I can't figure out which.

Here is a brief background of what Tony came here to complain about.

Every first quarter we mark down all discontinued items to move them out of inventory.  One of hundreds of items that got marked down this year was the Nikon 6x42.  We marked them down on a Friday and over the weekend we sold more than what we had.  Since we are closed on the weekend we could not take them off our site.  An Internet forum named 24hrcampfire had a thread going about the price and many of their members jumped on the deal.  We started notifying them that we could not supply all of them and they started making accusations that we were participating in a "bait and switch" or "false advertising", they even discussed starting a class action law suit against us.  We were able to get more of the scopes coming and informed everyone via email as to the back order situation and more were coming.  For ones that would not get one or for the ones that wanted to cancel, we offered a 25% discount off anything else we stock.  Many of the back ordered 24HR guys have vowed to never buy from us again (once they get their scope or discount), and many of them have decided to join The OT to further their agenda.  There is a large thread on here that they started that we finally locked because it was getting out of hand, you can find it be searching.

Strange deal, hunter and shooters turning on each other over a simple close-out deal.

I used to post on 24HR forum.  There are a lot of good people there, but there are a lot of ...let's say not so good people there also.  There is a reason why I no longer post there.

Yeah Chris I was one of those that put it out on the table for SWFA, and that's the nikon 6-24 thread if memory serves me correctly. Then one of those idjits kept coming back and posting more, and wouldn't let it drop. Mark finally had to edit and lock the thread.

We are happy to be the beneficiaries of your extra time here ILya. I enjoy having you around to learn from and point folks to when they need some in depth explanations, the fact that you do some very good objective critiques on optics is a huge boon for all of us here my friend.

Thanks, cyborg.  I wasn't fishing for a compliment.  I was just trying to point out some peculiarities of some the 24hcf crowd.

some folks assume that everyone has a live, real-time, inventory process seamlessly attached to the internet site.   I have ordered stuff off of the 'big-boys' sites and and been let down because their inventory was wrong and i got the 'dreaded' backorder.  Obviously these babyish folks have never been involved w/ a real inventory process (i guess i just invited someone in here w/ inventory experience to continue being a baby, if they see fit to waste more time.....being a baby.)

There are two types of folks in this world. 1. Babies, that have NOTHING better to do than complain when they don't get what they want. and 2. Grown-ups, that have the guts to be disappointed or realize that some things aren't always like they seem and realize that nothing is perfect. not even a closeout sale.

I, for one, am tired of the babies. These are the same types of people that blame the government for their own bad parenting.

i have called and checked inventory at SWFA many many times and had great dealings w/ these guys and gals - it's a shame that the internet can be used for such defamation. over spilled milk. babies. whiney babies. I used to think very highly of 24 campfire as a whole.  You are giving your site a bad bad name, by trying to defame others. Try and consider the other users that associate w/ that site before you run your mouth.
