Hi all, new guy here. Love to read and learn!!!
Just for info only: I recently learned of a new S & B offering due out (supposedly) in the summer of '08. They will have a 2.5-10 X 40, 1" tube, SFP scope. Apparently they are looking for more space in the American market. This is great news as far as I'm concerned. I love Schmidt and Bender scopes, but really wanted a 2nd focal plane unit for a (soon to be) new addition to the arsenal. Anybody else heard about this? Just wondering. |

I haven't heard about this, it sounds like good news for those that are looking for this brand and that scope type though. I'm not exactly a S&B fan, they seem to be very good scopes, for the price they had better be.
Welcome to OT.

I am sure it will be a great scope, have not heard the news, but will be way out of my league with respect to price.

My goals have changed since I've aged. I've gotten rid of all my "regular" bolt guns save three (and old Remmy given me by my dad about 45 years ago, a Sako 75 and a Kimber 84 I'm only getting upper end optics now, and will save for a year if necessary. I've got a Cooper 52M on order, thus my curiosity in the S & B. The Kimber wears a 3-9 X36 Swaro AV. It's a nice set-up to be sure. I may also pick up a Ruger #1 but that's about it. I just was thrilled to find this site to learn all that I can. Thanks all. Good luck.

BNB go back and find an avatar like Bricat's to keep our interest. I have to say a 1 inch S&B at this point is of questionable value as the U.S. dollar is sliding so rapidly toward the flames of hell that another Euro scope we cant afford is almost pointless. Sorry but I have a little trouble getting excited over a 2.5-10 x 40 as we probably have thirty or fourty of them to select from and anything that you cant do with a Zeiss or a 4200 bushnell in similar power you surely wont be able to do with an S&B. Guess thats why they make cars in different colors. Anyway welcome to the OT.

The new Trijicon does look interesting. I looked through an older version last fall. It was quite nice and optically, seemed equal to the Meopta I was also looking through. I completely understand that not everybody is looking forward to a new S & B offering. I was and just thought the info may be of interest to some. Bricat's avatar will certainly grab interest. Guess the one I picked is about as boring as most others. Oh well.
