I saw my first SIGHTRON II riflescope yesterday and I it looked a lot like a a leupold. It was pretty clear and I liked it. It had good eye relief and I believe it was constant. I read on their website about their patented adjustment system they call EXACT TRAC. If it is patented then why is it exactly the same adjustment system that is in the Weaver Grand Slam scope called MICRO-TRAC. How can they be using the same design? Oh well, does anyone out there own a SIGHTRON II and if so how does it stack up against some of these better known scopes?

I own a couple of Sightrons, including a SII 3-9x42 Mil-Dot and I am very happy with them. Optically SII is equal to Leupold VXIII for less money. I've been told that Sightron makes glass for Leupold which would explain it.
ExacTrack is not exactly like Weaver's MicroTrack. I do not have time to search for their patents, but I think one has integral erector tube ring and another is not and weaver has 4-point contact while Sightron has 3-point contact.

Ditto on Koshkin's post. I have a Sightron SII 3X9X42 and also a Leupold Vari XIII 3.5X10X40 and I would be hard pressed to say where I think the Leupold is better. I spent less than $190 for the Sightron, and as you can guess, considerably more for the Leupold. JMHO Todd |

They use a ring to achieve the constant contact point but as far as I know they do not use the four point contact system. I think Weaver has their system copyrighted and patented.
The Micro-Trac 4 Point System is similar to an automobile's dual independent suspension. Any adjustment made to the tube for windage is independent of any elevation changes. |
