Hi Guys - I am looking to convert my remington 700p .223 from hingeplate bottom to clip fed. But the only 'stock' conversion kits are in larger calibers. Does anyone here know of any options? I have always been partial to the clipfed -vs- the hingeplate.
thanks in advance.

sure jb, buy a tikka or a browning! that will solve the problem. jk!
i would check with brownells and m-i-d-w-a-y and see what they have, rem makes a clip gun so there has to be parts for it to convert yours somewhere Edited by pyro6999 - February/29/2008 at 09:46 |

I think you all mean a magazine conversion. I am betting you really don't mean setting it up like a Garand or something.

it wasn't you.... and the guy wanted to do it himself. I think it was his first rifle too and pyro and I told him to buy a new gun with that feature.

problem is that this guy has a 30-06 not a .223 and his was a blind box mag not a hinged floor plate.

Yeah, it looks as if the smallest thing i can find is for a 22-250 - i'll just learn to love the floorplate, i guess.
thanks, guys.

The best thing to do is buy a parts gun for the magazine and the other parts then use the recever to use on a build of another toy. Kind of a 2 for one deal. The cost will be about the same.

They are available just harder to find in stock. Many stores sell the HS precision ones, I just don't want to link them as many of them are SWFA competitors.
http://hsprecision.com/new_accessory.htm Just do a search for HS precision bottom metal Edited by supertool73 - February/29/2008 at 11:38 |
