Are these the same as the victory fl sold hear? Because they are considerably cheaper and I dont understand how they can sell them for that much less?

Alot of the time they are so cheap because they are grey market. Which means they are the same binocular sometimes, sometimes they are different. Even if they are real at that price, you will notice they do not mention any warranty in the auction. When these are imported into the US illegally they do not have a warranty through Zeiss and yes Zeiss can track this, as can any other manufacture and they will not warranty them. The most popular places we have for fraud is NY first and CA second. You see where this auction is. IMHO I say stay away from them.

I agree with Chris in that you should disregard this sale on eBay. Grey market products will not be warrantied by Zeiss USA and, thus, will create numerous headaches and repair costs for you in the future should you purchase one of these products.
In general, products like Leica, Swarovski, and Zeiss are priced as they are for a reason. Many companies attempt to discount these products but they are either going against the vendor/seller agreement or are selling non-warrantied products. If it were me purchasing these products I would not take a chance on buying something where the warranty is in question. If you do get a grey market product it will only create confusion and repair problems/costs in the future. My $.02. |
