What a great aircraft. 1 B-24 every 55 minutes??

My great uncle was KIA flying B-24's in the European Theater in WWII.

I had 2 childhood friends that served on B-24s. One was a waist gunner, but I either never knew or forgot what position the other father was in.
I wish I had talked more to them, but back then, they either didn't talk about their war experiences or they only talked with other vets.

Look how far we've come since then: over 10 million on disability, over 20% of the population on food stamps, real unemployment around 37%.

Progress sure looks funny.

Ain't that the truth.

I was watching a documentary on the Korean War and if I'm not mistaken, they said the entire military budget for US armed forces in 1945 was around 83 billion dollars annually.....Right about what we spend of food stamps annually now.

That is so true. The liberals and tree huggers have passed tax laws and enacted regulations designed to run industry out of the U.S., and that's what our enemies have feared the most, our industrial might and our resolve to use it. Now we have neither the industry nor the resolve to defeat our enemies.

My father was a ball turret gunner on B-24's.  Flew out of Shipdham, England.  32 Daylight missions over Europe.  Didn't really appreciate how remarkable the man is until I was grown.
