First of all glad to be here, I hope to gain some info from some people in the know. I would like to thank the folks at SWFA for the great service "especially Patty in customer service she was very patient and very helpful in what turned out to be a difficult transaction"

I hope to be recieve the scope That I ordered today by this Friday and plan to get it mounted and sighted in this weekend. The scope is a Leopold VX-II 6x18x40AO w/a heavy duplex reticle. I am shooting a springfield armory M1A w/national match upgrades in .308. w/A.R.M.S. mounts/rings

I plan on starting at 25yds just to get it on paper and then moving out to 100yds for final sighting adjusments. My questions are what power level and objective setting should I use to do this, and will changing power level and objective settings affect POI. I plan on using this rifle for hunting Antelope,Deer and Elk this year I wil be using a 150gr for Deer,Antelope and 168gr for Elk.

any help/suggestions and tips will be greatly appreciated.

You should sight it in on the power you plan to shoot on most of the time, if you don't know then sight it in using the middle of the power range (12x).  Set the adjustable objective to the yardage you are sighting it in at.  Changing the power and objective settings can affect point of impact but it is so minor that the animal will not even notice.

Please take pictures and enter our $20,000.00 Photo Contest.  I think an M1A and an elk photo would be awesome.

Thank you for your feedback sorta what I had planned on doing but wanted confirmation from someone who has had more experience w/these types of scopes. And yes I will definitly take a few pics IF I get an Elk they can be sorta hard to find and it would be my first IF I get one this year.

                                                    thanks again

Thanks for the sighting advice, worked perfectly. I haven't got an elk yet but I did get this deer.
