Well, finally went and shot 20 rounds through the FNAR. I was with my nephew so it was a quick trip just for fun.

I tried to adjust the scope while I was at it, too bad I shoot so poorly. I will take some time on a warmer day and carefully adjust it.

Here were the results after 20 rounds @ 100 yards... adjusting the scope to compensate whilst shooting. You can see I was working my way to a bullseye, too bad I over-slid the bag and had to come back. Not sure if those two hits in the center were luck or divine intervention. Boy I stink.

I can verify that the laser rangefinding scope is very accurate. I am interseted in getting it set... and then trying out the turrets and see how that technology works. Of course you have to know enough to pick the correct turret, so things are stacked against me. I am a n00b with almost no hope.

The rifle kicks nothing like the .308 hunting rifle I shot.... which is a testament to design and the gas block system. Recovery was quick even for a guy like me used to low-recoil .223 in my M4 or 5.7 in my PS90.

Boy, what a boom the thing has.

Sounds like great fun Ick.  Glad you finnaly shot that sucker and gave us a report, I have been waiting for a while.  Wink

I have a browning 7mm BAR which that is based off of.  You are right about the recoil, even with the 7mm it is not bad at all.  One of the great advantages of a gas gun.

Glad you are enjoying it.  Make sure to let us know what kind of groups it will shoot when you get it all figured out.  Thunbs Up

He's like me, and used to looking at other people's little tiny cloverleaf groups, and wondering how they do that.

Yes, I guess I expect better groups from top shooters.  For me, that is par for the course even at close range. After I am done with a target and a 30 round mag it looks more like I took a shot with a SHOTGUN and not a rifle.

I plan to be out on Saturday to scope in for 100 yards. I will attept to fire beyond that distance if I get a chance.

Ick, remember PERFECT practice makes perfect.  Take your time and work on repeating each step exactly.  Have a plan and execute it every time you shoot.  You will overcome your errors that way.

Have you had any luck finding extra mags for the FN?  I had the opportunity to buy one two times recently but passed due to not knowing if the mags are available.

I ordered 4 when rifle delivered.  They came right away since I was one of the first guys to throw my wallet down.

I could re-sell one to you for, say, the cost of an FN SCAR light....

Great Advice!!!  The best shooters I met shooting in the service where that way. Each shot was exactly like the last one right down to every minute step!!!
