Looking for a reasonably solid fixed power (24X or 36X) target rifle scope.

I say reasonably solid, because I can't afford high end but I don't want to waste my money on something that is going to fall apart on heavier calibers.  Optics don't have to be spectacular.

Any suggestions to investigate?

Thanks!

Not quite to the 24x your talking about but the SS20X is about as tough as nails and glass is good.  Does have a mildot though you may want a target dot.   There are some others out there but I am not as fimiliar with them so I will let other chime in on those.

I see plenty of Weaver T series on rifles at the club. They are cheaper than Leupold.

Bang for the buck, the 20x SS is a steal @ <$300

If you hate it, you can sell it for almost what you gave for it pretty easily as opposed to some other scopes you'd take a beating on. "though haven't heard anything to lead me to believe you'll be less than thrilled with the SS"
