Just looking for a little confirmation that I did ( or didn't ) do okay. I have a pretty good grasp of riflescopes and binoculars , but to date haven't made a spotting scope part of my equipment. One of my co-worker's wife bought him a new Simmons Master Series 15-45x -60  for Christmas, and as fortune would have it his father-in-law also got him a spotting scope ( this one a Leupold  ) ..lucky guy....so - he offered to me the Simmons for a 100 bucks ( boxed up and still in the bubble wrap....she finds out -he's dead meat , but that's another story ) . Bought it ....Price wise it seems like a bargain, but how does it compare? I will use it for now to watch the deer mill round the farm behind my house, etc. I haven't used one for hunting or 'eye balling whatever' before, so this is new to me.....thanks

I believe you got a pretty good deal on a resonable spotter, it should provide decent service until you are ready to move into the $500-750 range or  better.
