I got him with a .308 and a 168gr TSX  bullet at about 50 yards.  He took 3 steps and dropped, got up, three more steps and down for good!  He weighed about 250.

Thanks guys.  You know, in all of my school-girl giddiness in taking the pictures, I completely spaced putting the rifle in it.  I have a picture of it when I finished its paint job, so it looks exactly like this except a bit weathered now.

That is a very nice boar and even better rig. You should have stepped back about 350 paces and then banged him with that nice set-up !!!Wink

8 shots, would have loved to step back that far, but that morning was so foggy that I had to wait 20 minutes after he came into the feeder before i could figure out which end was which!!  My buddy and I got in the stand at about 0700 in the morning, figuring that we would have about 45 minute to an hour before the hogs would come in.  That would have given that darn fog plenty of time to burn off.  Turns out it was less than 10 minutes after getting into the stand.  I guess he was anxious to get his breakfast!

SD dog,  those tusks were almost three inches.  On the property where I hunt, they regularly get tusks between 4-6 inches.  Mine is about average size, but they have much bigger pigs down there.  The biggest for the property was a bit over 650 pounds!

Yeah, it was fun trying to drag him around.  The property where I hunt is managed extremely well and the farmer has truck trails cut into all of the hunting areas.  After gutting him, we were able to take him up to the shed.  Took all three of us to skin him out in a timely fashion.  The property where we hunt is on the red river.  Great spot and has tons of pigs, and plenty of ones bigger than this little guy.

Speaking if which, if anyone is in the neighborhood, so to speak, I would be happy to take them down for a hunt on the property.  Just send me a PM and we can figure out the details.

There is a butcher here that charges $75.00 to process the animal (wild hog only for that price), regardless of size.  They only give you roast, chops and sausage.  The seasoning that they put in the meat is quite good.  I was impressed with the sausage for the price.

Lawton is not very far from Tulsa. How long does it take to get the meat back from the processor you used?
