Saturday, I finally had the chance to go out for a couple hours of hunting.  I was fortunate enough to get this buck in the few hours of hunting I got this year.  Found him bedded with about 7 does on a hill about a mile from me across flat ground for the most part.  I could see them the whole time I put the sneak on them.  I got to 302 yards from the buck, but was about 50 yards from a couple does that had finally stood up.  I waited for the buck to stand up to take the shot.  302 yards with about a 15 mph quartering to 90 degree crosswind.  Using 160 gr Nosler Accubond in a Ruger No 1 7mm STW just purchased from SWFA topped with a Z6 2.5-15 from SWFA as well.  Dropped him with one shot.  Entered behind the left shoulder and exited through the neck in front of the right shoulder.  He never twitched.  Just dropped right back to where he was laying.
