Well other day, my dealer call said my stamp came in. So I went and picked up my first suppressor. next day took a range visit. Silencerco Specwar 7.62.   with a Coletac Summit cover(courtesy of BigDaddy recommendation)
I'm thrilled. I shot it on my 556 middy and on my 308. very happy. On the AR its kinda gassy,  but works fine, and sounds like a 22. The can gives it an odd recoil impulse on the 700. When I first got it, it had normal rifle recoil in the shoulder, then I put the brake mount on it and shot it while I was waiting on my stamp. almost no recoil. Then the can it brings some of the recoil back, but its feels like a slow firm push. Looking forward to using it this hunting season. Then I'm gonna start on piecing together a decicated hunting 300blk sbr project hopefully future seasons.
here is picture of it sitting on my 700 on its first visit to the range to get zeroed.
I got a 600 yard f class match next month, already talked to the director, he said hes cool with me shooting with a can just for fun. Its against the rules techincally, but  I'm want to shoot it for the experience and learning, and but the club level matches are only way ever get to shoot at 600, 1000 yards.

on the 556 the night before. little bulky for an 556,

Yea, you're screwed: you'll wonder why everyone else at the range is "shooting rude" now.

On the gasser, get an adjustable gas block, it helps immensely.  I prefer the toolset adjust like Noveske's switchblock.  They aren't cheap, but are very effective. For that, you would need to remove the existing gas block/front sight. If you are a righty and don't shoot weak-hand, a gasbuster charging handle will also do the trick and for less time and money.

My gas guns all run suppressed and most have adjustable gas blocks.

On the form4: go to kinkos, make many copies of the actual form 4 document, front and back, in color, and keep the original in a safe place and keep a copy in every vehicle, every range bag, and any friend's vehicles you ever take to the range.  DO NOT GO OUT WITH THE CAN AND WITHOUT THE FORM!

They are addictive!

Im not getting gas in the face, its got a bcm charging handle, not getting any around the handle, just at the ejection port.

As far as the form 4 goes. I got the original in safe deposit box. Copies at home, vehicles, gun cases, smaller copies in wallet, in the gun stocks. Digital copies on my phone.

Welcome to a fun new world. Yippee I was also suprised how much the brake reduced recoil.  I never shot a gun with one until I got the QD brake for my can.  Now my wife will shoot my 30-06!

Yes DO leave originals of the form 4/trust at home in a safe.  I also have copies with me at the range.  One stays in my truck and I also shrunk a copy and folded it up and put it in the grip of my AR SBR.

I don't have any info if a digital copy is acceptable for ranges or officers who ask to see it or not.

FTW sling with bungee from Rifles Only
here a demonstration video on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMGMy4l2HfQ#t=134
excellent sling.  very adjustable, the cobra style buckle is great for quick detach to sling up.  Adjust me to tighten/loosen, shorten/length,  work great. The bungee options is worth the extra few dollars, especially if you gonna use it on hunting where your gonna be covering a lot of ground.

By law, you only have to present paperwork to a BATFE officer; however, local law enforcement could make you stand in some uncomfortable positions till ATF guy arrives. Don't mess with this, it is federal, have lots of documentation on hand!

Out the ejection port is a given. And gassers get dirty fast. Fast! If it is wet or humid, they foul even faster.

The ammo left in the mag will look like WW2 leftovers. But damn are they quiet an gentle to shoot.
