My first 22 rifle was a Winchester single shot; can't remember the model number. Dad paid $10.00 for it, used at a local gun shop and hardware store, and gave it to me for Christmas. I stopped keeping up with the prices they were going for when they hit $140.00 years ago.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

IIRC when I bought my Ruger 10/22 it was $120.  That would have been in 1988.  I was 9 and mowed lawns all summer to pay for it.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

Those old firearms advertisements were GREAT.  Thank you, Ed... except for that picture of David Pigg... what a punk...
