I just mounted my VX-R 4-12 firedot last night and took it to the range for the first time today. Cool scope, cutting edge technology and good glass. Somehow I suspect the 30mm tube is to house the electronics.

I am sure that the did not change the design of the optical box inside the scope for this model so it will transmit the same amount of light as Leupold 1 inch scopes. I am interested in how good this scope is optically because I passed on buying one in November and bought a VX-3 instead because there were no reviews yet on the optical quality of this line, compared to the VX3, since they cost the same or more because of the illuminated reticle.
