Need some opinions on which scope to get. Have narrowed it down to three scopes. Kahles American Hunter 2-7X36, Swaro A-Line 3-9X36, or Leupold 2.5-8X36. I've looked through all three and can't see much difference in broad daylight, but don't have the chance to look at them when its getting dark. Let me add that this will be on a Ruger Number 1 chambered in 45-70 Govt. Shots will mostly be close but 250 yards shots will be possible so i wanted a bit more than say a 1-6 scope. I also want a wide field of view. The Kahles seems to me like the perfect power, but the Swaro has the brightest optics of the bunch. Which would you guys pick to go on this gun? Thanks

They are all quality optics and all the companies deciding between have good customer service. I'd say You are on the money power wise for the application. Go with which every one you like the best. Remember that which ever scope you choose, You are the one that needs to be happy with it.

I am not at all certain I understand why you need more than 6x for 250 yard shots (unless you plan to shoot prarie rats with that 45-70 ).  But anyhow, Swaro and Kahles are a fair bit better than Leupold optically.  Other than price, the only reason to choose Leupold out of these three is patriotism.  If price is an issue, Burris Signature Select or Sightron S2 will give you more for the money than Leupold.

The Swaro is the best.  But I would get the Kahles.  I like this particular Kahles a lot and I do not think that the Swaro is as far superior as they would like you to believe.
