SWFA is advertising the Bushnell 1-4x trophy scope http://swfa.com/Bushnell-1-4x24-Trophy-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P11611.aspx as having a 1090 - 320' field of view at 100 yds.  This is orders of magnitude wider than anything else out there, (e.g., the Millett 1-4X has a max of 90' at 100 yds)http://swfa.com/Millett-1-4x24-DMS-Tactical-30mm-Riflescope-P9251.aspx.  Is this a misprint, or is there something I'm missing on this scope?

I had about decided on the bushnell 1.5-6x because of its 42mm exit pupil.  It was always my understanding that the larger the exit pupil, all other things being equal, the more light gathering ability the scope would have.

Since this scope will go on an M-Forgery, I want as wide a field of view as possible at low magnification for CQB, with the ability to shoot accurately at longer ranges.  Being able to discern targets in low light would be a big plus.

What would some of you experts recommend?

It is 109 ft at 100 yards and 1090 ft at 1000 yards on 1x   32ft at 4x at 100 yards

There are some good pictures online that were taken looking through this scope at 1x and 4x.  A close target you would just put between the posts and not even worry about the fine-line crosshair.

You would probably like the 1-4x better than 1.5-6x on an AR unless you was doing some 600 yard target shooting.

Urimaginaryfrnd has both of those scopes and will probably chime in when he gets a chance.

It isn't that easy to find but I'll post this since I know where some are at, go half-way down this page and you will see the pictures.

if your talking max fov then you need to drop down to 1x by something. There are few scopes in this catagory and most are expensive. Comparing fov in scopes in this price range is almost a waste of time for the following reason. Most have sweet spots that only contain 60 to 70% of the central image area and the image quality degrades rapidly towards the edges, so even if one scope offered a few more feet it probably gets it at the cost of image quality that another scope with less fov makes up for in better image quality towards the edges but less fov. An out standing scope in this area without a 1x are the Meopta and the Mk4
