I like the federal hollowpoints but I shoot everything. The .22 has limited accuracy compared to the better bullets made for 17 hmr. Look at them the difference is quite apparent. I'd say if you want a super accurate varmit rig a Savage with accutrigger in the 17 hmr would be the ticket. If you want accurate .22 there are some ELEY match bullets that are highly accurate but spendy.

no such thing as super accurate varmint bullets-- there are however super accurate varmit guns, that prefer certain bullets. If you shoot alot its best to find a good price on some and test a small sample -- if possible, or if the supply of a particular type seems to predominate in your marketing area test these first, always better to get some. If possible buy in lots of 1000 or more to get the same lot number and avoid adjustments down the road.

My .223's and 22-250's all like the Sierra 55 gr SBT. I have to say I have only tried a few others because these were the first bullets I loaded in both calibers. They shot so good I stopped experimenting except for my 1/7" AR. The faster twist allows the 69 and 77 gr Sierras to be loaded and they shoot great, too. If you have an AR down there with the faster twist they should work great.

I shoot the 50 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips and Sierra Blitzkings in my varmint .22 centerfires, both with fantastic accuracy!

I shoot 50gr and 55gr VMaxs outta my guns with excellent results. The VMaxs shoot better than match bullets in my .223. I tried pretty much everything and got the best accuracy with the VMaxs.
