Good day!

I have one strange scope - it was gived for me as Super Sniper 16x42 scope, but i have some doubt about it...

1. No stamped marking on main tibe near ocular that i have see on ptotos of SS scopes.

2. No "SS" name (same as "SS10x42") on side of the center unit, only stamped 16x42 marking on it.

3. On small label on the down side of ocular "Inspected by Asia Optical, Japan",  but i have see (on photos) "Inspected by Kenko Optics, Japan" on this label.

What can dear Sirs tell about these strangenesses?
Is this real Super Sniper 16x42 (may be old Tasco SS model)  or fake?

 Thank you!

Let me try to get one of SWFA's staff on this thread to help us. It may take a little time for them to respond due to being very busy this time of year.

I can see the images and it is a genuine Super Sniper scope from the tasco era.

I think its one of the original SS scopes made by Tasco, I had one that IIRC was marked only 16x42. But I sold it a while back so I can't tell you for sure.

The scope appears to be in excellent condition.  Is it considered a collectible item?  Did these scopes have the same durability and QC as the current SS scopes?

This is not collectible scope. But I use it (~6month) on PCP rifle whithout recoil. It has great optics and was work fine. But after mounting it on the bolt rifle in .22lr it was die:(  I make less than 10 shots and
reticle was turn around:(((
