Ouch! http://gizmodo.com/5899790/f+18-crashes-and-explodes-next-to-elementary-school-updating-live Pilots were at least alive enough to hospitalize. Not much yet on ground injuries or deaths.

Just heard this on the radio. Bad news indeed.
Prayers to all involved.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Scary thing plane crashing next to a school. We can only hope that there are no serious injuries.

I am surprised this doesn't happen more often to be honest. They make those guys take off at such low power to reduce noise that they put themselves in danger of spattering themselves over the head of people whining about the jet noise. I love hearing it, reminds me of the sound of freedom. Glad to hear we didn't loose anybody!

Read about it. It is a shame. Glad they are ok, and home the people on the ground are ok too. Shame about losing such a great plane as well.

1999 LtCdr Kieron O'Conner and his "back seater" Lt Kevin Colling died in a crash in prep for an airshow in Ga. Met during Provide Promise, great man.
I called him "The Immortal". (Kieron O'conner of the clan O'conner and he cannot die_) I never heard what caused the crash, not sure they know, now, just "augered in". I quit following the demonstation teams after that... It makes me sad... I love aircraft, but they are perilous...

Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.
There are some who do not fear death... for they are more afraid of not really living |
