I miss those engines; 2.5 liters, 900 H.P. and 19,000 rpm. Turn it up because this one is screaming and driven by the best.

Nice Doug!!!  Thunbs Up

I saw the F1 Phoenix Iceberg USGP back in '89 (inaugural race), nothing sounds like them, not even old CART. Alian Prost won, Eddie Cheever (USA) took third. Senna and Mansell both drove in that race as well.

We used to see CART at Leguna Seca every year and wanted to some day see 'em at Indy but since Tony George destroyed that dream back in the mid '90's I only watch F1 now.

I have been to countless F1 and Cart races through the years. CART were both oval, road and street, Toronto was a blast.
I am going to my first IRL race this year at Mid-Ohio. It is a great road course and the open wheel guys will race on Sunday.
The ALMS LMP1 cars will race on Saturday. The Peugot, Audi and Aston Martin cars are wickedly fast too. They will also be on track with LMP2, the new LMPC class and the GT cars. Overtaking is a blast to watch because of the drastic differences in speed.
Tony George is history and I look forward to American OWR returning to it's former status. They need multiple chassis and engine manufacturers. And they sure as hell need more than 650 H.P. The rumor mill has VW and others proposing turbo V-6's and fours with substantially more power. The IRL will get better. Some of that is thanks to the former CART guys in the series. I say 800+ H.P. and 1100 lb. chassis should do the trick on road courses. If they run intake restriction on ovals to keep max speeds under 235 mph, they should be good.

That's great news for OWR if it returns to it's former status!!! Excellent

I thought CART was at it's peak in the early '90's (until Mr. George wanted to start his own series). There were some really good rivalries, Penske was sort of like the Yankees of OWR, some F1 drivers (Nigel Mansell, etc.) were coming over to the USA to race in the series. Alex Zanardi was real fun to watch.

We went to the "Phoenix 200" a couple of times to see the CART races and saw Mario win his final Indy Car race while there in '93. It was a "bull ring" oval.

Mario was my favorite driver back in the day.
