Kinda got my eye on DPMS .223 Prairie Panther 20" / Mossy Oak brush for plinking and coyote control out to around 300+.
I've convinced myself that a SS is the way to go on optics, but not sure which fits the bill best.
1X-4X
6X
10X
3X-9X
The 1-4 really looks top notch of the (4), but not so sure about long shots with it.
The 6X seems to cover short & long shots best for a fixed.
The 10X may be an issue @ close in quick shots.
The 3-9 might be the ticket for all around range.
Anyone want to breakdown the nominees?
No one in my neck of the woods has a SS so I only know what I read here.
SWFA/Bobro and Burris PEPR lead the way on mounts.

I would go with either the 1-4 or 3-9 myself.  You never know what range a yote will show up and it is nice having a variable.  I had an SS 1-4 sitting on my AR 223, but it just got moved to a 30 Rem AR upper.

I also have a 3-9 sitting on my 270 Win.  Love that scope and one of the best all around scopes I have.  Would be a great fit for your rifle and for what you are going to do with it, it may actually be the better choice in my mind.  Covers close and lets you easily shoot 300+ yards on yotes.

I would go to the group buy here

And get the 3-9 kit.  Everything you need to set you up perfectly for your AR.  The 1-4 kits are great too.

I'll nod for the SS 3-9 as well.

Thanks guys. All is duely noted.
Is the "new" reticle available in the 3-9 kit? I guess I'm asking, did it change or is there an option with this scope now?

I've got a custom Rem700 / 7mm stw with a Warne 20moa rail and TPS/TRS steel rings just waiting for a scope too. Maybe a 2nd kit for it????
It's my "go to" deer rifle.

These kits are a complete steal when you add up the free gear!!!!
As the saying goes. "When oportunity knocks".

Anyone have any idea if they are going to offer the new 3x9 (with the new reticle) in the group buy kits?
