I'm helping an uncle of mine get a good pair of bins and need some input. He is in his 70's and wears glasses. I had him look at my ZR Prime 8's and he had alot of blackout trouble. He did love my SLC 10's but doesn't want to drop much over $400 on a new pair. I'm leaning toward the ZR ED3 for him. What say u?

A guy name Birdwatcher rings a bell.
He should have input for you and he knows his stuff and specifically knows the lower dollar range that you will still get great performance and features. I have enjoyed some Minox binos he had me pick up they work wonders. |

Since your uncle is in his 70's I would recommend a binocular with at least a 5mm exit pupil. Some black out is a result of not centering the exit pupils within the eye pupils. Another thing to teach your uncle is the importance of IPD/Interpupillary Distance. Make sure that he gets the binocular set as close to his IPD as possible. It just a matter of practice. Lastly, twist up eyecups, with a lot of adjustment, are important for us Senior Citizens with eyeglasses when it comes to eye relief & no black out.
