Bushnell Elite 2.5 - 10 X 50 has 3.3 inches ( 95% Total Light Transmission ) + Rainguard ( Scratch resistant as well as fog and water repellent )

Swarovski PH 3 - 12 X 50 has 3.1 ( 94% TLT )

Ziess Conquest 3.5 - 10 X 50 has 3.5 ( Markedly above 90% TLT )

Kahles                                 has 3.3 - 3.5 ( 99.7% per lense surface )

Leupold                                has 3.5 - 4.0

I am going to mount the scope on a Sako 75 hunter in 300 rem ultra mag. I have a mercury recoil reducer as well as a pachmyer decellerator pad installed.

How critical of eye relief do I need to be?

I am leaning heavy toward the purchase of the Bushnell Elite 4200. I also have my eye on the Kahles 3 -12 X 56.

What scope would you put on this rifleand why?

i have a rem. 700 lss in 300 ultra mag, and i dont have a muzzle break or anything on it. i use a 2003 leupold vxIII 4.5-14x40 adj obj on mine, and i never cranck it up past 5. they eye relief on that scope is great. and since its a thumber, i recommend no less than 3.5" of ER.

as for the scope, i the bushnell is the best for the money, and is crystal clear. i but wither of those scopes would work fine, i guess its just how much money you want to spend on it. i think i would get a zeiss, leupold, or bushnell.

The 3-9x40 Conquest is way above average optically and has a CONSTANT 4 inches of eye relief.  You can shoot on any power and never have to worry about "Scope Eye".
