I like dot sights, a 4 MOA dot works great for a 223 out to 2-300 meters witha 200 meter POI.
Unfortunately I also want(need) a nikon m223(or a shepherd)on my gun for longer ranges. I know that there are mounts that allows one to mount a red dot to a scope tube but what if I want to mount a dot sight that isn't removed when the scope is(due to damage whatever)? What I'm envisioning here is a mount for a dot sight that is so high and also made in such a way that a dot can be mounted ahead of the scope and the scope(mounted conventionally) sees through the dot mount. Basically allowing me a larger area of peripheral view for shorter ranges(not confining my entire world to the inside of the dot tube) but also allowing me to use a conventional scope with a BDC, allowing either to be removed without affecting the other(not forcing me to rely on irons until I can get a replacement for either mounted and sighted in)... Is there such a mount available or do I have to buy a chunk of T6/7 and machine it out myself? |
