   Javali,

I think that something is getting lost in translation.    I believe that the answer is a qualified -MAYBE-?   It sounds like you are not trying to compare apples to oranges, but compare differant varities of apples.  Let us say that you want to compare 6x42 scope with a 8x56 scope from the same maker in the same quality line.  Then the answer still comes back to a very close, but small differance may be noticed. If you are comparing two differant makers of product or even two differant lines of product by the same maker then you can expect more differances.  The Exit pupil is not a defining paramiter, but a starting point for your application.  You also have filed of view, eye relief, various lens and prism grindsand coatings all of which influance what you see as much if not more than the exit pupil.

Thank you Silver for the reply.

In Portugal we can hunt wild hogs at night, waiting for them at the moonlight.
So we need a very good riflescope. A fixe scope is a good option but the probleme is if is the same i have a 4x36, a 6x42 or a 8x56 (the most used) considering the same brand and model.

I have a (good) Docter 3-12x56 IR rifle scope on a Zastava M70 but i need another to use on another rifle that i pretend to buy, a (rustic) single shot Baikal 30.06.
Because the Kipplauf Baikal is a small gun i would like a small scope, but with enough quality to the pratice of this kind of hunting.

My best regards
