Eotec VS Aimpoint
Which would you mount on your trusty tactical AR for performance and durability?

Aimpoint... Used them since they first came on the market.  Never had an issue.
I don't like the "holograhpic sight" (which is NOT holographic in any sense, BTW) concept.

Aimpoint.  Like the simplicity, ruggedness, and battery life.  Not a big fan of Eotech.

Have two CompM2s, or had.  Gave one to a LE buddy to use instead of his Eotech since he like the Aimpoint better.  Also am playing with another OT members Micro T-1.  Quite impressed so far.

Aimpoint > Eotech in my experience.  Eotechs don't do well when smacked against the door jam of an armored vehicle when exiting with a purpose .... After two eotech's went TU ... I went back to the trusty M68 Aimpoint.  Aimpoints have good battery life and the only weakness is illum knob.  If mounted conventionally its "away" from the body and impacts can cause it to fail.  We had some go down from this.  We then rotated them 90 degree's so the windage became the elvation and the knob was on support side and not trigger side (right hand shooter).  This helped a good bit to prevent failures.

Now that Uncle Sam isn't providing me with gear for trips to exotic places ... I have gone battery free ... and use the Trijicon Reflex.  I prefer the triangle reticle.

I SO prefer the EoTech layout, big layout, etc.  I have a 552.A65 and have used it for over 6 years.

Now, I WISH there was an Aimpoint EoTech with the better battery life and edge on durability.

I like the T1, the small housing disappears and doesn't effect my field of view

I have ran tests back to back with it, Eotech and full size Aimpoints with a shot timer.

I originally thought I ran an Eotech better but the shot timer showed my first round on target and splits were quicker with a T1.

Best bet is to get out and run numerous back to back and see what YOU like and what works better.

Honestly, I think that full size red dot sights will disappear over time and long term, miniature sights have a lot more going for them.  The best example of those is Aimpoint Micro.  That is probably the best red dot on the market right now, although there are some other nice red dot sights there as well.
