I've managed to scape together $500 for a new set of bino's. I hunt in the Colorado Rockies. Wear glasses. The ability to see in the early am is very important to me as is weight. Given the distances I view I like 10x but I'm leaning toward an 8x given the low light viewing gains.
These are on the sample page. What do you think or others?
I appreciate the opinions and ideas.
Thanks
Rex

I had a pair of Bushnell elite 10x43 (gave to friend), and a pair of 10x43 SP's (gave to nephew) and to me the Elite's had better glass and better build quality. You could use the SP's no problem (he still does) but think the Elite's are better all the way around. I will say however, if you can scrape up another $100 bucks you can get a pair of Leupold GR HD's ($699/$599 after rebate) and they are absolutely fantastic. Great glass, great build, and the legendary Leupold service. I have a pair of Swaro SLCneu also and it would be splitting hairs as to which is better. The only thing I have against Minox is their relatively narrow FOV...318'@1000yds as compared to the GR HD's 340'@1000yds.
